Tinting rear window glass

 Hey everyone!

I got my first full car window tint including the rear window with defrost in it. Wow what a challenge they are, it was on a subaru wrx. I was able to get the 4 doors done in about an hour and a half but when it was time to start on the back window i was quickly discouraged. I had to order in tint for this job because of the shading the customer wanted so that was $250 to start out. Then quickly realized the tint I had special ordered wasn't large enough to cover the entire rear window.

I then reached out to the customer to let him know it would be a few days before I was able to get the rear window finished up. So I ordered the next sized up and it cost me another $400! Wow maybe should just stick with the detailing haha. You gotta learn somehow right?

I got the tint laid out onto the back window and was starting to shrink it to the mould of the window with my heat gun, got too close, burnt it. Start over, was pushing the fingers out too fast and crinkled it. Start over. I had to of wasted over 30 feet of the 100 foot roll that just cost me $400. Feeling defeated I gave it one last try, Was able to shrink it down decently good and once I got it onto the window on the inside it didn't end up looking good at all. Ended up not charging the customer a penny for it. I wasted about 9 hours of my life and almost $200 worth of tint.

Cant give up, wont give up. Now training myself on how to accomplish this because the profit margins are better than detailing!

Thanks for the read!
