Mistakes happen

 Hey guys!

A couple weeks ago I did a full detail on an Acadia and had an issue with it I’ll mention more after. It is a customer that has been loyal to us since the beginning which made the mistake that much worse.

She brought her car in for a full detail so I got to work on it, started with the dog hair filled trunk followed by the rest of the carpet throughout. She has really nice z71 chev floor mats that keep her carpets decently clean! My secret to getting the floor mats super clean and shiny is starting with the pressure washer followed by foam cannon and using some elbow grease with a coarse brush. Once you get the, hanging to dry grab some tire foam and spray away! Once they are dry they look amazing and no further action needed, they dry to perfection!

Once I was done with the interior I moved it outside for an exterior wash, it had started getting dark so I wanted to get it done fairly quick so I still had some daylight. I used my usual brush and pails to wash along with the pressure washer and foam cannon. I started by foaming the entire car, but what I made the mistake with was I should have prewashed it by spraying the first layer of foam off along with the dirt built up on it but I didn’t. I started with my brush and washed down the entire car and sprayed it off and called it good. The next morning I was at work and received a picture message about the Acadia being scratched all over so I offered to do some paint correction on it for free because obviously it was my mistake.

That Friday night I picked the car up from the customers house and got to work in the shop. I started on it around 9 and finished around 2 am. I used my chemicalguys buffer and foam pads with the McGuires compound cutting polish and did the entire vehicle, some places I needed to go over it twice. Once I was satisfied with my results I applied a wax coating for protection and kicked it out the door. The customer was very pleased with the speed of the issue being resolved as well as the outcome of her vehicle.

They are getting married this year so we supplied them with a gift certificate for the raffle to make some funds for their big day! We are so happy for them congrats guys!

Thanks for the read guys!
